Exuberant and enthusiastic blades

LEUCOSPERMUMcordifolium is the name for this South African autumn bloomer. Fortunately, we can also just call her Nutan or popularly pincushion. As you can see, this name refers to the similar way of flowering. This beautiful flower seems a bit prickly at first, but as soon as it turns out, she doesn't have pins, but exuberant and enthusiastic blades.

COLORS AND SHAPES OF THE LEUCOSPERMUM

This originally orange flower is now also available in ocher yellow, lemon yellow and a reddish color variant. Its sturdy leaves are slightly hairy and all point upwards along the sturdy twig. The top is covered with a thin layer of wax, as protection against the salty sea breeze… but indoors it probably doesn't really need it.

SYMBOLISM OF THE LEUCOSPERMUM

The name LEUCOSPERMUM has its origin in Greek and literally means white seed. Cordifolium means with heart-shaped leaves. You would almost think that there is a lot of symbolism behind this flower. But unfortunately we disappoint you, you have to create the symbolic value yourself. The different colors all have their own meaning.

ORIGIN OF THE LEUCOSPERMUM

The South African small tree originally grows along rocky slopes on the coasts in the southwest of the Cape of Good Hope. Now the majority of these flowers are produced in Israel and Australia.
