Connected through the friendship between breweries and their neighbors, the labels of Populus 6921 do not show the brewing year but the year until which the beer will be available: 6921! This is, of course, a nod to the postcode of Populierenlaan in Duiven, where the ten men behind Populus live.
In recent years, Populus has brewed 6921 different beers that are exclusively available and shipped by Mitra. The first beer was a Quadrupel, made in collaboration with the Bronckhorster Brewing Company. The second beer, Blond Eiken, was brewed with Jopen from Haarlem.
The third beer, NachtStout, was created by vandeStreek. Since 2021, a hazy IPA has been added to the lineup, brewed at Kompaan in The Hague and named HopGewekt. In 2021, DubbelZinnig, a dubbel with a hint of ginger and orange, was also introduced, brewed at vandeStreek in Utrecht. Then came StoutMoedig, an imperial stout brewed at Homeland Brewery in Amsterdam. In 2023, EigenTijd, a bock beer brewed at vandeStreek, and ZuiderBuur, a unique tripel made at the Antwerpse Brouw Compagnie, were added.
